About Sunnyside

Sunnyside is a traditional 18th century cob-cottage originally built to accommodate the workers employed by Cornwall's historic Tin and Silver mining industry.

During our renovation and restoration project, we unearthed evidence of a  long-lost village Well  - now depicted by a compass marking on the driveway. Inside the thick cob walls we uncovered two impressive fireplaces, each housing a traditional clome oven, along with an original slate floor, likely sourced from a highly regarded local quarry, which is still mined to this day.

We have taken much time, effort, and care to preserve and highlight these unique features, resulting in a stylish and comfortable living space, rich in rural charm and Cornish heritage.

Sunnyside is now cosy and characterful. There are two double bedrooms, a shared 'Jack & Jill' en-suite bathroom, a lounge with log burner, a dining room with impressive fire place, a modern kitchen, and a utility room with laundry and downstairs toilet, along with all the modern conveniences you would expect in your own home.

About the Owners

Hello, and thanks for considering Sunnyside for your Cornish getaway.

We have been visiting Cornwall as a family regularly since the early 1980s. We finally seized our opportunity to relocate to Cornwall and began a new chapter 'living the dream' as recently as 2017. After 18 months of arduous labour, and no small amount of care and love, our renovation of Sunnyside was complete, and we were finally able to accommodate our first guests in the summer of 2018.

Originally from Warrington, Cheshire, we always envisaged ourselves relocating to our favourite county. Over the years we have made some great friends and become very knowledgeable about this wonderful part of the world, and really enjoy sharing our 'inside info' with our guests to help you make the most of your stay with us.

Get in touch to book your stay with us, we look forward to welcoming you to the village
